Capsule Geology

The Gully showing area is underlain by Lower Permian limestone and sedimentary rocks of the Stikine Assemblage.

The showing occurs along a major steeply dipping fault with phyllite squeezed into it. One sample of phyllite contained disseminated pyrite and sphalerite and assayed 1.09 percent zinc, 0.13 per cent lead and 1.54 grams per tonne gold (Assessment Report 21192). Another sample was taken from a granodioritic dike which ran across the fault. The dike contained pervasive quartz-sericite-pyrite alteration and assayed 13.07 grams per tonne gold, 23.6 grams per tonne silver, 1.63 percent arsenic, 0.11 per cent copper and 0.16 per cent zinc (Assessment Report 21192).

Work History

In 1989, one day was spent prospecting the claims on behalf of Golden Arrow Resources Ltd. At this time, 11 rock samples were collected. No results of any significance were encountered.

In 1990, Golden Arrow conducted a program of geological mapping, prospecting, contour soil sampling, rock geochemistry and minor trenching. A total of 54 man-days were spent on the claims during which 531 soil samples, 18 stream sediment silt samples and 98 rock samples were collected. During this time four new showings were documented: Swimshow, Waterfall, Gully and Knob.
